Grouping Soft Power (2017-2020)
Initiated by Daniella Norton, this group completed a series of exhibitions whilst openly interrogating the meaning of Soft Power (not necessarily in agreement with each other). Participants: Nick Carrick, Daniel Alexander Hignell Tully (Distant Animals), Daniella Norton, Micheál O'Connell / Mocksim, Andrea Slater, Mike Stoakes, Joshua Uvieghara, Jon Carritt and Dan Palmer. The three years of sporadic activity included occasional rifts. Nick Carrick was expelled simply in order to exercise the possibility of doing so but also to reduce the number of painters, and it was proposed that one of the art duo Carritt and Palmer would have to leave - their choice - but before that happened Soft Power disbanded.
